A Legacy Company
The York Family - Experience Carried Forward
Experience Carried Forward Since 1982
The story of Comanche Gas & Power is rooted in the York family’s work in the natural gas industry. Since 1982, Comanche has furnished gas processing equipment to the midstream sector, building experience through new construction, reconditioning, and the practical demands of individual projects.
For a family business, experience is personal. It lives in the decisions made on a project, the lessons learned from equipment in service, and the relationships developed along the way. Those lessons provide a foundation for the work ahead and knowledge that can be carried from one generation to the next.
Roots in Natural Gas
Comanche’s history includes involvement in more than 200 new and reconditioned gas plants. That work encompasses equipment used to treat and process natural gas, preparing gas streams for further use and separating valuable components.
From amine treating and refrigeration plants to cryogenic processing facilities, the company’s experience has grown around the needs of the midstream industry. Rebuilding, refurbishing, relocating, and reinstalling equipment have also been important parts of that story, giving existing plants and machinery a new chapter of useful service.
A Texas Family Business with International Experience
The York family’s energy story extends beyond Texas. Comanche’s materials document work in the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Nigeria, and the Philippines, reflecting experience across different locations and project requirements.
That history includes both new construction and reconditioned facilities. Working with construction partners as needed, Comanche brings its equipment and processing experience to projects whose scope calls for different capabilities and resources.
Carrying the Experience Forward
Today, Don York helps carry the company’s experience forward, connecting its history in gas processing with customers seeking equipment and project solutions. New equipment, refurbished units, and opportunities to relocate or recondition existing facilities continue to give that experience practical value.
The family legacy is preserved through the work itself: understanding a customer’s requirements, discussing the available options, and applying lessons learned over decades in the industry. As the company’s story continues, that foundation remains central to how Comanche approaches each new conversation.
A Legacy Still Being Written
More than four decades of midstream experience provide a substantial foundation, but the Comanche story continues with the work ahead. Each equipment requirement, project, and customer relationship offers an opportunity to apply that knowledge to a new set of needs.
We invite you to explore examples of our work and speak with us about your next project. The York family’s history is part of who we are, and its experience is something we bring to the work we do today.
